UNAF raises awareness of family and intergenerational mediation among professionals and families in Madrid and Seville

During the last week of September, UNAF mediation awareness professionals gave various workshops in Seville and Madrid, with approximately 70 people attending the four workshops held.

Within the framework of the mediation awareness programs that UNAF has been developing this year, last week the techniques of the respective family mediation and intergenerational mediation programs offered workshops aimed at professionals and families respectively.

On the one hand, Morón de la Frontera (Seville) was the setting for the awareness workshop for professionals and families in Family Mediation. A meeting held with social workers, from the women's information center, police and primary and secondary education professionals. Marta Chacón, a technician from the awareness program who offered the workshop together with the UNAF family mediator Manahem Moya, highly valued this workshop in which, in addition, “active participation was established, especially in the group dynamics, simulating a family mediation session”.

On the other hand, and now During the afternoon, a workshop focused on families was held in which the well-being of the sons and daughters was reconsidered, guidelines were offered to help them better understand the situation that the minors are going through, and how to approach them to explain the situation of rupture that occurs in the family .

Mediation with adolescents

Understand and know the changes and difficulties of adolescence; risk behaviors of the adolescent stage and indicators of problems, or how to help young people were some of the issues that were addressed in the first awareness workshop for families on Intergenerational Mediation which took place at the Clara Campoamor Equality Space in Madrid by technicians Belén Rodríguez-Carmona and Inés Alonso on September 26. A participatory meeting with a lot of reflection, in which families shared their experiences and gave rise to interesting debates.

Also, on the day On September 28, a workshop was held with the same topic but this time aimed at professionals of the Social Services of the Alcobendas City Council. In the same vein as the previous ones, multiple issues were addressed regarding mediation in families with adolescent sons and daughters with the aim of raising awareness and giving tools to professionals to help families navigate the stage of adolescence.

From UNAF and its awareness programs in particular, they will continue to celebrate workshops in the months of October and November, and about which we will give a good account on our social networks and the mediation blog.
