In this section we will provide you with all the information you need to register as a mediation professional in this Autonomous Community. Likewise, you will be able to consult the training you need to meet requirements and that our School makes available to you.

Training Academic

Have a degree in Law, Psychology, Pedagogy or Psychopedagogy; or one diploma in Social Work or Social Education; or, a University degree equivalent according to the guidelines of the European Higher Education Area.

Training specific

A training duration of 300 theoretical hours and 60 practical hours must be completed. In this training program, the minimum attendance requirement is 80%. The content of this specific training must be:

  • 10% of the total of hours of the course must be dedicated to legal-economic aspects of family and minor law related to family mediation.
  • Other 10% of the total of the course should focus on psychological and social aspects.
  • 60% hours of the total course will be dedicated to the theoretical aspects of family mediation and conflict.
  • He 20% remaining of the total of the course must be practical nature.

Training keep going

  • You must certify 20 hours of training every 5 years.

Application

Registration application

The Registry of Mediators and Mediation Centers of Professional Associations and Public or Private Entities is managed by the Family Mediation Service of the Balearic Islands. You must complete these three models:

The Balearic Islands are awaiting approval of the Law 13/2019, of March 29 that will modify Law 14/2010, of December 9. 

Required documentation

You will be required to provide the following documentation. You can find the annexes here (found at the bottom of the page)

  • DNI, NIF or passport.
  • Documentation accrediting the compliance with the required academic and specific training.
  • Annex III: declaration that you do not incur incompatibilities and that you are not disqualified from your profession by a final judicial resolution.
  • Certified copy of the document registration in the Census of businessmen, professionals and retainers.
  • Annex VIII: statement that certifies that there is adequate space to carry out the mediation processes.
  • Annex VII: declaration of veracity of the bank details provided.

Procedure to follow in registration

You can submit the registration application at the headquarters of the Family Mediation Service of the Balearic Islands (located at c/San Juan de la Salle, 4b, Bajos de Palma) or in any of the places established in the article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, of the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations:

  • In it electronic record of the Administration or Organization to which they are addressed, as well as in the remaining electronic records of any of the subjects referred to in article 2.1.
  • At the Post Office, in the manner established by regulation.
  • In the rdiplomatic representations or consular offices from Spain abroad.
  • In the registration assistance offices.
  • In any other that establish the current provisions.
