The El Astillero service resolved, with satisfactory agreements between both parties, 34.8% of the cases managed by the Amecan association. This was the general balance provided by the town's City Council. Amecan attended to a total of 43 mediation requests in 2019.
As detailed by the City Council in a press release, in 2019 there was an increase in actions. Of the applications received on 62.7%, they were family-related; 20.9% were related to neighborhood or community issues; and the 13.9% for civil purposes. Segmenting it by age, the highest percentage of mediation requests came from people between 41 and 50 years old.
This service also became an information point to be referred to the Autonomous Mortgage Mediation Office, to which any Cantabrian can have access for free.
