Aragón leads extrajudicial mediations in Spain to resolve the problems of minors

Aragón leads, at the national level, extrajudicial mediations to resolve conflicts involving minors. In this way, they are prevented from going to court for crimes such as theft and injuries. The programs were divided into two stages: up to 14 years; and from that age onwards.

Since the programs were implemented Middle Open Team (EMA) in 1993; and the Educational Care Team for Children under 14 years of age (EMCA) in 2003, more than 10,000 young people were served.

Both programs have a total of 13 professionals and are based on prevention, comprehensive care for minors, their environment and the victim. All this, accompanied by educational work to avoid recidivism. The activities proposed for this can range from collaborating with social entities to carrying out reparations related to the criminal act.
