The registration period for the Solidarity Day is open “Mediation and its Educational Value: building spaces for peaceful coexistence” which will be held next Friday 20th of September 2013 at the cultural center The window, Maliaño (Cantabria) and that will have the presence of renowned experts such as Professor Juan Carlos Torrego, Oscar Daniel Franco Conforti and Juan Amodia de la Riva, among others.
The celebration of the day was born on the occasion of Third Anniversary of the Cantabria Mediation Association (AMECAN), as well as on the occasion of the inauguration in 2013 of the Municipal Mediation Service of the Camargo City Council that the entity manages.
Mediation is the new tool that promotes dialogue, communication and consensus, allowing us to build a culture of peace where the values of justice, participation and solidarity are much more than an ideology; They are values in action. Ultimately, it is possible to Educate from Conflict through Mediation, whether in Schools, as well as in any other area where Mediation transmits its culture of peace, creating a more humanized society, where collaboration and commitment replace the prevailing conception of adversarial citizens.
- Recipients: Conflict Mediation Professionals, as well as citizens in general, professionals involved in the social field such as Psychologists, Social Workers, Educators, Lawyers, etc., professionals involved in the educational field such as School Counselors, Teachers, etc.
- Goals: Deepen the study of the institution of Mediation as well as analyze the different functions it fulfills as an instrument of social change, especially, the educational force it has with respect to the parties involved in the resolution of the conflict and, above all, as a new paradigm of management and resolution of conflicts within the School environment.
