The Erguete Association serves twice as many minors to prevent screen addictions.

As presented by Europa Press, the Érguete association has warned of the increase in addictions to technologies as a result of the covid-19 pandemic and they consider that it is almost impossible to consider life away from screens an option.

According to their report, children between six and thirteen years old spend almost five hours a day in front of a screen.

The coordinator of the program, Laura Durán, says that, through their program, they aim to focus on addictions that go unnoticed because they are normalized but that are increasingly present in society.

With this program, the main objective is to give the educational community tools to learn to manage the time dedicated to new technologies and, above all, the type of content that is consumed through them.

Although it may seem like an exaggeration, screen addictions cause the same symptoms as any other addiction (including anxiety, irritability or discomfort).

Added to this is the ease with which inappropriate content such as drugs, sex or gambling can be accessed and which, with makeup - or not - in video games, entertainment videos, etc., go unnoticed by parents. and mothers.

The key point reached with all this is that it is essential that parents accompany the minor in this process and that, by example, they are educated in “addiction.” In the end, it is a reality that screens are more important than ever in all areas, so the solution does not lie in prohibition, but rather in support.
