The Generalitat has launched the 'Mediation and Covid-19' program. It will be aimed at those people immersed in a conflict during the pandemic, with an extension of up to six months after the state of alarm is decreed. This service will be offered free of charge.
Interested persons must request the process via email to the Center de Mediació de Dret Privat de Catalunya. The mediator will be assigned by proximity to the place of conflict. The meetings will be telematic and issues concerning “children, people with disabilities or other disadvantaged groups” will be a priority, they noted.
The Generalitat aims to improve the management and resolution of these interpersonal conflicts without having to go to court. “The ordinary way of resolving conflicts, through judicial bodies, has been seriously limited by the State of Alarm. It is necessary to look for other formulas,” they stated.
