On August 6, the General Directorate of User Rights and Guarantees and the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of Aragon, launched a new intercultural mediation service for COVID-19 positives. This initiative aims to be further support for the teams of professionals who are dedicated to monitoring and controlling cases and is part of the collaboration maintained by the Department of Citizenship and Social Rights and the Department of Health to protect the groups. most vulnerable of the Aragonese population.
The new service will initially focus its action on the city of Zaragoza. To launch it, it has been necessary to sign an emergency contract between the Department of Health and the Association of Intercultural Mediators. AMEDIA. The general director of User Rights and Guarantees, Guillermo Ortiz, explained that these mediators will facilitate communication between the professionals of the Primary Care health system and the migrant population, developing intercultural mediation actions in order to cut off the transmission of COVID-19. “Likewise, if necessary, these professionals will also establish a referral of positive cases to the spaces enabled for asymptomatic patients that have been enabled in the city of Zaragoza.", has added.
