New collaboration agreement: EIM and APEGA (Galicia)

There's no doubt that the importance of mediation in the educational, work, intercultural field, etc And how pedagogy and psychopedagogy play a very important role within this sector.

Is mediation a real professional opportunity for pedagogues and educational psychologists?

Absolutely yes.

From our School, we have recently achieved a collaboration agreement with the Association of Pedagogues and Psychopedagogues of Galicia – APEGA with the aim of being able to create a synergy between different entities, making associates aware of accredited and practical training to access the registry of mediators of the Ministry of Justice, to practice as a mediator.

What is APEGA?

APEGA was born as an association concerned and involved in responding to social needs within a socio-educational and interdisciplinary perspective. They bet and fight for social and professional recognition of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy, consistent with the increasingly explicit demand and demands on the part of society.. It is a professional association “of” and “for” pedagogues and educational psychologists. as a place of meeting, exchange and participation.

On many occasions we think that these professionals focus on the school environment, on formal education, etc. By supporting APEGA, from our School, we see how Mediation becomes a real professional opportunity to be able to practice both “inside” the school and “outside the school.” offering the pedagogue or educational psychologist a professional opportunity.

We want to thank APEGA for its collaboration with our entity, publicly, for the interest shown in being able to offer its associates training and for our part we are grateful for being able to contribute our grain of sand to the recognition of these professionals with the possibility that they can take the university mediation course with great economic advantages.

Mediation: A profession with a future

Without a doubt, this collaboration supports the different professional profiles within APEGA for their job placement as mediators. All of them are, in many cases, the ideal profile to resolve conflicts of certain types (in the family environment, in the educational, work, intercultural field, etc.)

From our School, an entity accredited by the Ministry of Justice to practice mediation since 2012, with more than 1,380 students already trained, the importance of both disciplines (pedagogy and psychopedagogy) within mediation is highlighted.
