Description
Intercultural Mediator, part-time, position on staff is required for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors in a Tutored Apartment.
Requirements
- They will have qualifications in medium-level training cycles, or professional certificates, in subjects related to the sociocultural area.
- Proven experience in carrying out tasks of a similar nature.
- They will have a proven command, at least, of the Arabic language.
- Minimum certified experience working with minors and/or adolescents.
- Learning capacity, technical and personal reliability, interpersonal communication and “knowing how to be”.
Features
- Communication between foreign minors and the center's professionals.
- Mediate in conflict situations arising from language difficulties and/or cultural or other differences.
- Guide, from an intercultural perspective, the center's professionals in order to carry out an appropriate intervention with minors.
- Support educators and auxiliary technicians in the performance of their work, being coordinated by the former.

Intercultural Mediation Educator in Melilla

At Save the Children Spain we are looking for an Educator to help ensure the improvement of the situation of vulnerability and lack of protection of migrant children and young people in Melilla through care and development of mediation actions.
Requirements
- University degree in social work, education, social integration, intercultural mediation or similar.
- Valuable training and knowledge in: Protection, Children's rights and leisure and free time.
- Use of tools at a professional level: Office automation (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and more).
- Essential knowledge of: Spanish, Arabic, Dariya and/or French. Valuable: English and sub-Saharan African languages.
- Experience of at least 2 years working with minors and/or migrants is essential, preferably in street or community contexts.
- Experience working with children and migrant families or asylum seekers in situations of social risk.
- Valuable knowledge and experience in psychosocial intervention, child and youth participation and interculturality.
