The second half of the year presents itself with new challenges for the Vila-Real Police Mediation Chair. In November there will be a presentation on the development of Police Mediation in the Valencian Community.
In addition, it is expected that by 2022 the Chair will also present a Basic Guide of the practice of police mediation, as an instrument aimed primarily at local police to be applied in their daily work.
What is the study on Police Mediation about?
In this study, different issues are analyzed and some of them are:
- The areas in which they intervene
- The concern for service quality and mid-market satisfaction
- He number of mediations formals that they carry out annually
- Number of police that are intended to perform this function.
On the other hand, an attempt is made to identify the reasons why the rest of the municipalities do not offer police mediation services nor do they have a specialized unit in this area.
The professor of Procedural Law Andrea Planchadell, has expressed that "the consequences of the health crisis have also had an impact on the legal field and these research, training and promotion activities for police mediation that feed the common project of social peace and public security."
New challenges
Both the study on Police Mediation and the Basic Guide They were presented at a work meeting held in which the first deputy mayor and councilor for Citizen Security of the City Council, Silvia Gómez, participated.
«The City of Vila-real Police Mediation Chair plays a fundamental role in the leading positioning of the municipality at a national and international level, with our Local Police as a great reference," stressed Gómez, who added that "the work of the chair has allowed us to provide a theoretical body and develop the mediation methodology promoted by our local agents and which is already an example for the police of Spain and other countries.
