Türkiye hosts the VII Istanbul Mediation Conference

On September 17, Türkiye hosted the VII Istanbul Mediation Conference, which was attended by the highest representatives of international organizations.

Turkey has become a brand in the area of mediation and peaceful resolution of disagreements with its studies of “raising awareness and capacity” on mediation, which is one of the ways to peaceful solutions to international problems.

Türkiye continues to contribute to the field of mediation both theoretically and practically.

This is the seventh edition of these conferences, the first of which was organized in 2012 and which brings together many national and foreign participants.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Gutiérrez, They inaugurated the conference that brought together the highest representatives of international organizations in the area of mediation.

In the conference composed of three main panels, topics such as the current situation in conflict regions, conflicts after the coronavirus pandemic period and the relationships between peaceful dynamics and peacebuilding were addressed.

This year the conference was held online with live broadcasts through YouTube due to the situation generated by the Covid-19 health crisis.
