The Mérida City Council is going to launch a Family and Community Mediation Program, which will start working from next week. Through this, the aim is to achieve neighborhood understanding as well as support families who find themselves in conflictive situations and strengthen the internalization of values that allow people adequate social development.
Due to the need to know the social reality, this program will be developed within the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI Mérida Central) from which a Social Action Plan 2022-2025 will be designed.
“It is essential to have strategies, tools or qualified professionals in negotiation and conflict resolution, guaranteeing a satisfactory solution for both parties” comments the social services delegate, Catalina Alarcón.
Among its objectives is the facilitation of access to a mediation process at the family and community level.
