Features


1. Information for people who offer foster care and adoption, on the legal aspects of family integration measures, the needs of minors in the Andalusian protection system and the requirements of the different states in international adoption, as well as the rights and obligations of foster and adoptive families.

2. Training for people who volunteer for service in decision-making about your foster care or adoption project.

3. Suitability assessment through the issuance of psychosocial reports with the assessment of the aptitude (skills, abilities and attitude) of the people who offer their services, as well as their families and minors.

4. Suitability update, through the issuance of psychosocial reports assessment in order to verify whether the circumstances that led to its recognition still exist or, in the event that circumstances arise that could modify said initial suitability, whatever knowledge of such facts is available.

Requirements

  • University degree or degree in PSYCHOLOGY
  • Membership
  • 3 years of experience in the field of child and adolescent prevention and protection system.
  • In case of not having 3 years of experience, accredited training in one of these areas (at least 200 hours): perspective of the consequences of mistreatment, abuse and neglect, psychotherapeutic care for minors in the protection system, training in foster care and adoption, training in group dynamics.
  • Valuable related training
  • Driver's license and own vehicle. Travel within the province.

SAMU is seeking two educational technical assistants to work in our youth centers located in the Fuencarral-El Pardo area of Madrid. Professionals with at least one year of demonstrable experience working with minors in youth centers are available for immediate employment and have flexible hours. 

Features

  • Collaborate in the execution of the educational program of the center and individual of minors or young people, under the supervision of the educator and in coordination with the rest of the educational team, carrying out auxiliary, complementary and support tasks for their work.
  • Carry out observation tasks recording shift incidents through the various established channels.
  • Attend and provide, like the rest of the center or program staff, basic care and ensure the physical and psychological integration of minors and young people.
  • Prepare and complete all documents that are considered appropriate in accordance with their functions, participate in the development of specific projects based on the needs of the minors and the activities of the center or program.
  • Accompany minors on their transfers or outings, procedures, consultations, walks, excursions and entertainment of leisure and free time in general.

Minimum requirements

  • Qualification compatible with the job: Degree in higher technical education in social integration, sociocultural animation, or early childhood education.
  • Experience in child protection of at least 1 year.
  • Training in drug addiction prevention, sex education, and behavior modification techniques.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Driving license.

Job Description

Assessment of family circumstances, collaboration in planning individual interventions, serving as a link between minors and their families, searching for educational and employment resources, and coordinating with the Social and Child Protection ServicesShe is also responsible for preparing reports, organizing the de-hospitalization plan, and participating in the placement of minors with foster families, contributing to their comprehensive development and a successful transition to more stable environments.

Required profile

Degree in Social Work

  • Membership in Social Work
  • Training in the psychosocial, occupational and/or socio-educational fields

2 years of experience in the field of child and adolescent prevention and protection system.

  • If you do not have two years of experience, you must have demonstrable training in the psychosocial, occupational, and/or socio-educational fields related to the purpose of the service, lasting at least 300 hours.
  • Knowledge: Social assessments and reports, Conflict resolution, Knowledge of the protection system and the group of minors in care, Office
  • Knowledge of Arabic, French is valuable
  • Skills: Empathy and social skills, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, decision-making, resilience.
  • Driving license and own vehicle.

Functions specific to your professional profile (at individual and group level), in addition:

  • Obtain knowledge of the minor in his/her environment, discovering the reality that surrounded him/her before entering the center.
  • Participate in the evaluation of family-related aspects and in the planning, preparation, development and evaluation of the intervention plan for each case (PEI).
  • Serving as a bridge between the family and the minor, channeling the intervention with the primary intention of healing family ties by offering support in the re-education of relationships.
  • Working with the tutor and the rest of the educational team, raise the child's awareness of their family and social situation, always offering a realistic criterion regarding their current and future possibilities.
  • Search for training and employment resources.
  • Evaluate with the psychologist and the educational team the appropriateness of permits and visits.
  • Try to obtain information on significant incidents that occur in the life of the minor's family and that affect their development, and pass this information on to the rest of the team.
  • Develop work with the family of the minor in coordination with the Community Social Services and the corresponding Child Protection Service, always ensuring that the family is held accountable whenever possible.
  • Prepare the reports and necessary documents derived from their professional work.
  • Organize, together with the psychologist and the educational team, the disenrollment plan for each minor:
  • Organize and manage the necessary resources to support the family, as well as to care for the minor once they leave the center.
  • Participate, in your professional role, in the process of integrating a minor into their foster family.
