And for this,&nbsp;<strong>the map of the conflict<\/strong>&nbsp;is an essential tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is a conflict map?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a visual and conceptual representation that allows the mediator to have a clear and strategic vision of the conflict.<br><strong>Helps answer fundamental questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who are the people involved and how are they related?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What has motivated the conflict and how do you perceive it?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What do the parties really want?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are they afraid of losing?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What external or internal factors influence the dynamics?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This tool not only allows&nbsp;<strong>sort the scattered information<\/strong>, but also&nbsp;<strong>identify what is missing<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>concretize the vague<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>discover paths forward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why is it a key tool in mediation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Because without a clear map\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The professional runs the risk of being carried away by incomplete narratives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can overlook the essential and stay on the surface<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The intervention can be reactive, not strategic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>With a well-constructed map:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hidden relationships, tensions, alliances or conflicts are visualized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A coherent line of action can be structured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mutual understanding and rapprochement between the parties is promoted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to build a map for the mediation process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Through&nbsp;<strong>key questions<\/strong>&nbsp;that guide the exploration and clarify the variables of the conflict:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who is involved and what is their connection?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What concerns you deeply?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What do you want to achieve\u2026 and why?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What obstacles do you perceive?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What emotions are present?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The way these elements are represented\u2014through visual symbols\u2014facilitates a comprehensive and agile understanding of the conflict environment.<br>It is a resource&nbsp;<strong>diagnostic, strategic and transformative.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/eimediacion.edu.es\/eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Mediation School<\/a>\u2026We train professionals capable of intervening with knowledge, structure, and a critical eye.
