Thanks to our mobile phone, in our day we can have access to different tools that can be useful for different communication or awareness objectives. In this post we are going to review some of them that can help us in our daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Iccon for refugees \u2013 communication.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is a very simple app for when we are serving people with whom we do not share a common language. It can be useful for people, for example, who we are serving in international protection from countries like Ukraine or Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application consists of a series of icons on different somatic fields, which can help us indicate what aspect or specific need the person is talking about. It can be of great help when we do not have anyone on hand who cannot informally lend a hand with the translation.<\/p>\n\n\n

2. Antura and the letters \u2013 language learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This app, more focused on children or young people, had its origins in the Syrian war. Its objective was that those minors who were displaced or outside their country due to the conflict could continue their own literacy and learn Arabic through mobile devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, an app that began with a specific objective on Standard Arabic, now also serves to teach children and young people to read and write in Polish, French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Hungarian and Romanian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Survival Algeciras \u2013 Empathizing with emigration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Survival is a serious game<\/em> developed by Omnium Lab in collaboration with the PeaceApp program of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in which the player can live in first person the experience of the migratory tragedy, from the place of origin of the migrant, to the arrival at their destination, going through extortion by mafias or crossing the Mediterranean by boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game has two objectives: that minors who are thinking of migrating can play to learn about the difficulties they will encounter and also that minors or young people who know young migrants can empathize in a game about the migratory journey of these people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An app focused on raising awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n

4. Liyla and the Shadows \u2013 Raising awareness for displaced people in a conflict zone<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Liyla and the Shadows of War is a 2016 free-to-play video game released for mobile platforms and Microsoft Windows. It highlights the difficulties and attempts of a Palestinian family to survive a series of armed attacks in their neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A great app, with numerous awards, that serves to raise awareness about people who leave their countries due to armed conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n

5. Bury me, my love (PC) \u2013 Play at living in a refugee camp<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bury me, my Love is an adventure that we can only access through PC and that is based on a serious game of exchanging messages via text messaging and that revolves around Nour, a Syrian emigrant who tries to reach to Europe. Her husband, Majd, who has stayed in Syria, communicates with Nour through a messaging application, advising her as best he can to reach her destination safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another game for awareness work.<\/p>\n\n\n

6. Refunite \u2013 reunite families<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is an app that can also be accessed through PC with the purpose of helping refugees and internally displaced people search for their loved ones who have disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This channel is very useful to find solutions for people who, after leaving their place of origin, have lost contact with their families. Families can search for their loved ones through various contact points, including the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Kahoot \u2013 play to learn<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Much better known application and especially used in educational institutions for learning content. That is why it is also useful to help migrants access specific content on a subject (languages, administrative situation, training...) in an enjoyable and fun way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This application turns the mobile phone into a kind of controller, where you can compete with other rivals.<\/p>\n\n\n
